!According to the report of a W.B. Lapham in Augusta, ME in July, 1879 (in the New England Hist. & Gene. Reg., vol. 33, pp. 354-355): "I have before me a transcript of the Newberry Records as follows: "Married in Newberry August 1, 1771, John Akers and Esther Buck....John Akers was a carpenter, and before his marriage worked in the West Indies. After his marriage he moved to Bradford, N.H., thence to Errol, N.H., being a pioneer in the latter town."
!The Vital Records of Newberry (Salem, MA:Essex Institute, 1911), vol. 2, p16 lists the marriage of John Akers and Esther Buck, Aug. 1, 1771
!The New Hampshire Provitial and State Papers: Towns A-F (Vol. 11), p. 51 lists John akers as one of the petitioners of the town of Errol, Dated May 20, 1788.
!There is a John Akers listed as a town member of Block Island, RI 1678, (NEHGv.13p37) as well as a proprietor of Dunstable, MA (Middlesex Deeds) (NEHGv18p264) and a John Akers as a mariner in Malta 1773 (NEGHv27p57)
!One of the few towns of N.H. in the late 1600's is Dunstable. A John Akers is mentioned as a resident and a land owner in Fox's "History of Dustable" p. 49 and in p. 20 of "The Nashua Experience"
