Notes
!Census records a Nancy "WEBSTER" living first with one AKER boy, then
William...Newton Gen. p. 128 then refers to Nancy LEARNED.
In the 1860 Census (Roll 444, p.65) Nancy Webster, aged 68 was living in
the same residence (I suppose William's mother) with Mary A, Mary F,
William W., Winthrop N. and George H. Also, living next door are John and
Nancy F Akers and Samuel and Sarah B Akers, whom I presume to be
brothers of William I. Also the 1850 Census (r. 262, p.196) Lists Nancy
Webster living with John and Nancy Akers, with Samuel next door. If
Nancy Webster is Nancy Learned Akers Webster by marriage, she was
born around 1792 in NH.
!The name "Learned" spoken of in the Newton Genelogy may in fact be
"Leanord", since the town of Erroll, Coos Co., NH is quite small, and the
1830 Census (M-19, roll 75, p. 309) lists a Sylvanius and Sylvanius
Leanord living near Samuel Akers. She would presumibly be 38 in the
household of Sylvanius Sr., if not with her husband.1850 census (Roll
262, p. 196)
Nancy Learned (b 20 Jun 1787 Roxbury, Suff, MA) listed in the IGI is also
a candidate. If so her parents are Daniel and Mary Childs
