!The book "History of Bethel, formerly Sudbury, Canada, Oxford County Maine 1768-1890 with a brief sketch of Hanover and Family Statistics" compiled by William B Lapham (Augusta, ME:Press of the Maine Farmer, 1891) LDS Family Library Oaland 974.175 H2l has some information. It says that he was born in Methuen, a descendant of the famous Hannah. Amongst the earlt settlers of Fryburg. Probably the first carpenter of Bethel, came to Sudbury Canada in 1778, settled in the lower part of town which was subsequently Hannover and owed by a Bela Williams. He was listed among the captians of the militia of the revolutionary war (p.86). He built a small grist mill on the Adam Willis' farm in Hanover.
