! "Carver" may be a name from a previous marriage. There are no Phebe Carvers in any known published geneology, and the marrige license (dated 16 Nov. 1854) seems to refer to her as "Mrs." Phebe Carver before her wedding (recorded as 23 Nov 1854). According to Margaret Dutka Thiel, her maiden name might be "GRAVES" (phone call of 1 Jan 1988)
