Soyang Lake...
August 15

Michael Duffy and I went to see the dam near Chin Chong. The dam was built to safely regulate any water that might come from North Korea, but also adds the benefits of a lake and power.

The snacks range from the ordinary "corn on the cob," to the fairly exotic "silk worm pupae"... yes that's right...the same little cacoon with the occupant still inside... I'm told it's best when served warm. I'm going to take their word.

The boat ride was very relaxing...

Bethlehem House

Here I am with some volunteers at Bethlehem House. This is a soup kitchen run by the Franciscans Friars. Br. Pedro, OFM invited me to say Mass a few times for them (and in fact, he took this picture because he was too shy to be in it!)
